Men and Gods. The wonders of the Egyptian Museum, a film directed by Michele Mally, is a documentary which, a year after the celebrations for the bicentenary of its foundation, takes the viewer to discover the Egyptian Museum of Turin. Every year the museum has over 900 thousand visitors, becoming the fifth in Italy in terms of attendance, but it is also the oldest in the world dedicated to Egyptian civilisation. Here, among the 40 thousand artefacts and its walls, a 4000 year old story is told. Sphinxes, colossal statues, sarcophagi and small amulets lead visitors to discover the secret world of Egyptian mythology and worship. The film event not only leads to the discovery of this Turin hub, but brings to life this fascinating civilization intertwined with the history of the museum, founded in 1824. The journey through time continues through visits to iconic places such as Giza, Thebes and the village of Deir el -Medina, inhabited by the scribes and craftsmen of the tombs of the Valley of the Kings and Queens.
