Past Lives, a film directed by Celine Song, tells the story of Nora and Hae Sung (Moon Seung-ah and Seung Min Yim), two childhood friends who are very close to each other. The two are separated when Nora's family decides to emigrate from South Korea to Canada and they end up losing touch. Growing up in America, Nora (Greta Lee) manages to fulfill her dream of writing for a living and moves to New York. Meanwhile, Hae Sung (Teo Yoo) is serving his mandatory military service in Korea. Twenty years later the two meet and spend a week together, during which they find themselves facing notions such as love and destiny.
