Foglie al Vento, the film directed by Aki Kaurismäki, tells the story of the loneliness of Holappa and Ansa (Jussi Vatanen and Alma Pöysti), a man and a woman who meet one night in Helsinki. The two have difficult lives marked by hardship and precariousness. They move from one employment contract to another without the slightest social guarantee, and economic problems are a daily concern. To have fun, they spend their evenings in bars getting drunk and singing karaoke, and it is precisely on one of these occasions that their destinies cross. They decide to go to the cinema for their first date and from that moment a troubled love story begins. Between alcoholism and dysfunctional families, in a continuous chase, Holappa and Ansa must learn to love themselves and life more...
On the Helsinki night, two solitudes meet, that of a mechanical worker and a supermarket cashier. Both have the desire to get to know each other better but a telephone number written on a piece of paper is lost and therefore the meeting is postponed while their social situation is not improving at all. Especially for him who can't stop drinking alcohol
