About the event

The “Emanuele Narducci” Center for Studies on the Fortune of the Ancients organizes, together with the “Marconi-Delpino” high school of Chiavari, for the entire day of Friday 15 March 2024 (starting at 9 am), theTwentieth Study Day entitled "Aspects of the Fortune of the Ancients in European Culture". 9 am: Greetings from the Authorities, from the Center Coordinator, prof. Sergio Audano, and the director of the “Marconi-Delpino” high school in Chiavari, professor Paola Salmoiraghi Chaired by Elisa ROMANO (University of Pavia) BARBARA DEL GIOVANE (University of Florence), Petrarch and the Epistles of Cicero. Story of a complex relationship VALERIA MELIS (University of Cagliari), “Curious” readings of Plutarch's Lives: an example in sixteenth-century Sardinia between erudition and anthropology ERMANNA PANIZON (University of Trieste), Ancient and nature in the work of the Carracci.

3pm: Rita DEGL'INNOCENTI PIERINI (University of Florence) presides ALICE BORGNA (University of Eastern Piedmont), Nam litteris satis pollutatus est (Petr. Sat. 46.7).
